The coolest name in any US national park has to be this place of geothermal delights - Bumpass Hell. There are bubbling caldrons of mud, hissing steam vents, incredible blue hot water and the pervasive smell of brimstone (sulfur).

Hiking right from our camp up to Mt. Harkness where you can see all four different types of volcanoes - shield, composite, cinder and plug dome. And occasionally the lupines put on quite a show.
