The Brazilian tapir is the heaviest land animal in South America.

leaves, buds, bark and even small branches.

Tanagers belong to a family of birds that are only found in the New World and are mostly in the tropics. They are some of the most colorful birds that we regularly encounter in the Amazon basin; they really stand out in this overwhelming world of green plants.
